Archibald Lampman (November 17, 1861 – February 10, 1899) was a Canadian poet. He was innate at Morpeth, Ontario, a village near Chatham. Lampman attended Trinity College (now a share of the University of Toronto).
Within 1883, after the brief & abortive attempt at teaching senior high around Orangeville, Ontario, Lampman took an appointment as a low-paid clerk in the Post Office Department, Ottawa, a position he held for the rest of his life.
Lampman associated with Charles G. D. Roberts, Susanna Moodie, Catherine Parr Traill, Duncan Campbell Scott, and Wilfred Campbell. He was one of a Confederation Poets and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1895. Lampman died within Ottawa at a age of 37.
He is widely esteem Canada's ticket 19th century English language poet.
